Part I. Gospel/Talmudic Proof of the Judeo-Christian Tradition
Here is yet another batch of comparative passages taken from both the Talmud and the Gospels. Once again, the clear parallels are quite obvious and provide even more proof of the existence of a very real Judeo-Christian tradition that may have been forgotten recently, but will once again guide men forward into the future of hope, a future of justice and mercy for all.
GOSPEL: For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one end of the sky, shines to the other end of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. (Luke 17:24)

GOSPEL: After these days Elizabeth his wife became pregnant, and she kept herself in seclusion for five months, saying, 'This is the way the Lord has dealt with me in the days when He looked with favor upon me, to take away my disgrace among men.' Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, (of the descendants of David) and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.'...The angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus'...Mary said to the angel, 'How can this be, since I am a virgin?' And they made signs to his father, as to what he wanted him called. And he asked for a tablet and wrote as follows: 'His name is John.' And they were all astonished. And at once his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he began to speak in praise of God. (Luke 1:57-64)
TALMUD: Hope is held out here for man for everything. If he is in abject poverty, he may become rich; if he is sickly, it is not beyond the range of possibility for him to become robust; if he is captive, he may regain his liberty. (Talmud, Tanchum. Berocho).
GOSPEL: For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Matthew 7:8)
TALMUD: God will eventually reveal his glory to all mankind as unmistakably as though He had placed his throne in the centre of the heavens, and then moved it from one extreme end to the other, so that everybody should see and know it. (Tanchum. Shoftim)

TALMUD: As an example of good manners and the virtue of considering the feelings of others, a story is related of a distinguished man who invited friends to his son's marriage. During the feast the bridegroom himself went to the cellar to fetch some very old and costly wine for the guests, when he was fatally bitten by a snake which was hidden under the casks. When the host learned the shocking news of his son's death he refrained from disturbing his guests' enjoyment, and when the feast was over and prayers after meat were about to be pronounced, he told the assembly that there would be burial prayers for his son, who had met his death by the bite of a snake. GOSPEL: On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, 'They have no more wine.' 'Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. 'My hour has not yet come.' His mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever he tells you.' Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, 'Fill the jars with water', so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, 'Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.' They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, 'Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.' What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which He revealed His glory and His disciples believed in Him. (John 2:1-11)
TALMUD: Yet there are two commandments, one apparently of slight and the other of great importance, for which precisely the same reward is promised. (1) That of sending away the wife and retaining the young, for the carrying out of which well-being and long life are promised (Deuteronomy 22), and (2) the honouring of parents, for which the same reward is assured. (Talmud, Tanchum. Ikev)
GOSPEL: 'Why then,' they asked, 'did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?' Jesus replied, 'Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.' (Matthew 19:7-9)
TALMUD: 'Ye shall keep my statutes and my judgments, which if a man do he shall live in them' (Leviticus 18): live in them, says God, but not die by them. (Talmud, Tanchum. Massa.)
GOSPEL: Have you not read what God said to you, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' He is not the God of the dead but of the living.' (Matthew 22:31-32)
TALMUD: It is forbidden to inquire what existed before creation, as Moses distinctly tells us (Deuteronomy 4:32). 'Ask not of the days that are past which were before thee, since the day God created man upon earth.' Thus the scope of inquiry is limited to the time since the Creation. (Genesis Rabba 1)
GOSPEL: Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: 'I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.' (Matthew 13:34-35)
TALMUD: The Torah was to God, when He created the world, what the plan is to an architect when he erects a building. (Genesis Rabba 1)
GOSPEL: What is the meaning of that which is written: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’? Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed. (Luke 20:16-18)
